February
special!

"The Apprentice's Special."

The February special will be called the "Apprentice's Special" It is a BHK Patch sized knife but in almost 3/16" thick, 4140 sawmill blade stock. It comes fully flat ground with your choice of either green or black Micarta scales, and either brown or black leather modified dangler sheath.

As some of you may or may not know, John McQuain and I, Scooter, are the apprentice's at BHK. John is Dan's right hand man at his shop in Cambridge, and I work with LT here at the Steubenville shop. Ok, we aren't apprentices in the TRUE sense of the word; we didn't start at age 10, our parents didn't give us up for 7 years to become Master Craftsmen, and we don't live under the same roof as these men. But, in true, proper knife making traditions, we are learning from MUCH more experienced and seasoned knife makers than ourselves. They make it look easy!

I know over here LT always says to me, "Don't worry, it's just wood and steel." Yea, right. That'll calm my nerves! I have learned SO much in the last few months. My flat grinding has got much better. I know John has been doing it longer than me and I'm playing catch-up but I'm learning! The special here has been made by John and I exclusively, with an eye on the end results from Dan and LT. We will continue to grow as makers and learning from our respective Masters. We have both had our hand in many of the other knives already, John more than me, but this is our first project by us alone.

The August special, very similar to this knife, sold out in record time (second only to the Scandi Boat Tail). There was one of them that sold on an overseas auction site for $112 or so. Quite the good value here with the addition of free shipping and the new modified dangler sheath as compared to that August knife. There are a limited number of these available. Thanks for looking, hope you like them.

"You know what, not only is this a really cool knife made by John and Scooter, but I said to Dan, let's do FREE SHIPPING to boot."

A note from L.T. and Dan

Blind Horse Knives are designed to be working knives. These are quality pieces that you would be proud to pass down generation to generation.
All Work Horse series knives have a serial number and the owners registry can be found on this site. If you have a favorite number, lodge number or lucky number this would be a great way to apply it to your knife. We enjoy talking to the owners. Their stories about using our knives influences every
BHK design.
Welcome to the
"Blind Horse Family"

         God Bless
