This lets the knife ride below your belt line. We find this
is an excellent carry rig.
It allows you to sit down and climb over obstacles while the
knife swings freely. These sheaths are handmade in our shop by Dans wife, Judy
Coppins
She makes an excellent quality product.
The Maverick "Scout"
This knife was designed for ease of use in your camp kitchen
and food/game prepping chores. Starting with flat ground O1
tool steel at the heart of the knife, this is an important design
feature we really like. It takes a good edge without being too
hard to re-sharpen in the field. An edge that comes back easy
is something you'll really love. At 8 5/8" long, 1/8" thick,
and a cutting edge of about 4", this is a good sized knife for
it's intended purpose. Big enough to get most cutting chores
done but not so big you will be hindered carrying it afield.
We chose to use the proven and practical natural, black or green
Micarta scales which have been polished this time around. Those
scales are attached with fish eye bolts, which practically guarantees
a trouble free life of the knife. We also use a 2 part epoxy
on there to help affix the scales but it also helps to seal
them to the steel so when prepping game, no blood will get behind
the Micarta. An oversized lanyard hole will allow you to add
just about any piece of cord you want to it to aid knife retention.
The Maverick Scout will be the first piece in our new Maverick
line with more to follow. No clues yet but they will all work
together to make your camp kitchen a great place to prepare
and serve food. This will be the set that gets handed down just
like the family cabin. Be able to tell your story about the
record buck you prepped with this set to your grandkids.

materials.
