BHK
Large Work Horse Knife
When
we designed the "Work Horse" series of knives we took into consideration
all the suggestions made by the folks using our knives and created what we feel
is a simple, straight
forward design lending itself to usability.
The large
Blind Horse Work Horse knife is made from 5/32" D2. It
has an overall length of 8 3/8" Sharpened edge of 3 3/4"
The Rockwell is 58-60 Cryogenically frozen and triple tempered.
This is a medium sized drop-point hunter, hollow ground. The
handles are removable for ease of cleaning and so that you may
change the handle as you choose from going hunting, search and
rescue, to EDC with our many handle options. Each knife is serial
numbered.

Dear BHK: I am the proud owner of LG Workhorse Number
87,
which I bought just as I was beginning my current deployment
to Iraq.
I've carried this knife every day that I have been in country,
and it has become my favorite piece of "tactical" gear.
My BHK has done everything from open MREs to cutting an entrance
into a Iraqi tent.
It rides horizontally on the front of my belt,
where it sits comfortably below my body armor - always ready.
Thank you so much,
Sergeant Steven S. Ashmore Charlie Company,

Sergeant Ashmore,
The Blind Horse Family would like to extend their Thanks to
you for your service to our country.
May God Bless You

Since I have purchased a large
work horse knife I have put this knife to the test.
As a wilderness survival
instructor I know the importance of a high quality blade.
I used this knife
for carving multiple primitive traps, carved and split wood for hours to test
edge retention,
scraped a hickory bow during the tillering process.
All
I can say is that this knife is one of the best that I own and I have many from
other custom makers. I would highly recommend this knife to anyone looking for
a knife for serious field use.
God Bless

What can I say. I love the new sheath.
It goes more than a few steps beyond the kydex. The tension adjusting screw is
just what the doctor ordered. The tension screw allows for a custom fit every
time and is conveniently located behind the closest chicago screw in the outer
leather fold over band (which like the kydex, carrys a set of vertical belt slots
for upright left or right handed carry). A regular flat head screwdriver is all
you need for access to the two chicago screws and the tension screw, making take
down and adjustments both fast and user friendly. The construction of the leather
sheath has a solid feel to it, with nice stitchwork. Despite the apparent greater
weight of the new sheath over the kydex, the nice upright fit on my left side
( being one of the demented left handers of the world ) makes for a comfortable
all day carry. I literally forget it is there sometimes, save for the occasional
small sound of leather breaking in, when I shift positions dramatically. Under
just a normal t-shirt, with the sheath worn with the belt slots turned out keeping
the sheath itself closer and more secured to the body by the wearer's belt, it
is basically invisible to outside spectators, which is comforting in a day and
age, where the site of a sheathed knife on one's side, though still one of man's
most useful tools, can bring instant fears of violence or terrorism. The embossed
pattern in the leather sheath ( I chose black ) is elegant, but not overstated,
and is reminiscent of a well tailored horse saddle, perhaps even the saddle of
the Blind Horse himself. Sealed with the Blindhorse logo, the sheath lives
up its namesake, quality at an extemely affordable price. Incidentally, utilizing
the sheaths' outer loop also provides for horizontal knife carry, and though I
haven't tried this yet, I assume it will work well, with the snugly placed loop
on the sheath to keep the sheath from slipping on the belt and the tension adjusting
screw to keep the knife from potentially falling out, but still easily accessible.
Please keep up the good work and hopefully we''ll see even a larger assortment
of handle scales available in the future. I for one, will be looking forward to
that, as well as other style Blindhorse knives to come.
Best Wishes to you, Anthony Ahern
