First Patch Knife
At
Blind Horse Knives we strive to build the best knives possible.
We
are always looking for ways to innovate and come up with new ideas
or
twists on how we do something. In the case of patch knives we are looking to the
past
for inspiration for new
pieces. We have a source for old saw blades that we are
using
to create new pieces. We use elk antler sheds and dyed animal bones as our
prime
handle materials as well as fiddleback maple pieces that we receive from
some
of the Pennsylvania Rifle makers. We use an "Ancient Mountainman Technique"
to age our steel. They rockwell
low to mid fifties and the steel itself is very tough and
easy
to sharpen. What is really neat about them is that
they
will age and rust and turn brown so keep them well oiled and just let nature
take
its course. Keep checking back we will have different styles available very soon!
We have the blanks
laser/water jet cut and then do the rest of the work in our
shop
they are truly American made knives of the best possible quality!
